Ezekiel 20:17-19

¹⁷ Nevertheless, I pitied them too much to destroy them, and I did not make an end of them in the wilderness.

¹⁸ Then I gave this warning to their children in the desert: Do not follow the statutes of your parents or observe their ordinances or defile yourselves with their idols. ¹⁹ I, the Lord, am your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to observe my ordinances.
